Description

Reverse Osmosis Water Filtration Kit 200LpD

CONTENTS
Filter housing, membrane housing, high pressure tubing, mains supply ball valve, carbon filter, sediment filter and membrane.

Designed for town/scheme water with a TDS 500PPM maximum.

PERFORMANCE
Production rate 50 gallons per day (approximately 200 litres) under the following conditions:
100psi
Water temperature 21°C
500ppm TDS
Nominal rejection rate over 96%
TFC Membrane

Change filters every 6-12 months and membrane every 3-5 years depending on TDS.

This unit filters tap water at the rate of 4 waste to 1 refined. So to collect 20L you need to pass 80L through the unit. Waste water can be re-harvested, captured and used in a washing machine or used on the garden safely.

  • Reverse Osmosis unit makes 50 Gallon per day, 227L per day filtered water. Too much chlorine can kill your hydro plants.
  • This is also great for human health for healthy, long life.

It is the chlorine in the tap water that wears out the membrane which does the fine filtration. The kit comes with 1 x 5 micron sediment and 1 x 10 micron carbon filter and 1 x membrane.

CAUTION
Do not use with water that is Micro biologically unsafe or with water of unknown quality without adequate disinfection before or after the system. Systems certified for cyst reduction may be used on disinfected water that may contain filterable cysts.

You may have heard recently about news reports about the following contaminants in Australian water sources:

- PFAS: Per- and polyfluoroalkyl
- PFOA: Perfluorooctanoic acid
- PFOS: perfluoro octane sulfonate

Also known as forever chemicals, PFAS is the collective term for approximately 14,000 PFOA and PFOS man-made chemicals. PFAS are commonly used in non-stick cooking items, water resistant clothing and firefighting foams, and have been bioaccumulating in the environment for years. Although limited studies have been conducted on their effects on humans, the World Health Organisation has recently classified them as carcinogenic to humans and likely have “no safe level of exposure”.

The recent spike in interest around PFAS presumably comes from a study which tested multiple drinking water sites across Australia, detecting PFAS in 50% of samples tested. Some samples were found to be 635 times higher than Australian standards, which is already much higher than acceptable limits in other countries such as the US and Canada. Australia’s high allowance for PFAS in drinking water is concerning experts, hence they are recommending Australians should filter their drinking water to reduce exposure.

Independent studies have highlighted that reverse osmosis systems are the most effective at reducing PFAS in water sources, this system will also reduce other contaminants like heavy metals and fluoride for drinking water, and reduce chlorine, sediment and PFAS from the applicable water source.
